Silk flowers of yesterday vs. Silk flowers of today
I know what some of you are thinking… Silk flowers, for a wedding… Yuck!
Most likely the image that is stuck in your head is the ugly dusty silk floral centerpieces that your grandma had her dining room table, right? Or those ugly silk flowers that you see in that discount department store, right?
Silk flowers have come a long way since grandma’s ugly dining room centerpiece. The quality has substantially improved over the years. I actually prefer the term “artificial”. There are even real touch flowers now, these are artificial but they even feel like they are real. Have you ever felt a real calla lily? The flower kind of feels rubbery. That’s exactly the way the real touch flowers feel.
I have had so many people tell me my arrangements look real. Brides tell me their guests didn’t even know the difference. That’s my goal, to make my arrangements look real.
Sometimes silk flowers can be a little bit cheaper than fresh, and sometimes not. But one thing is for sure they will last you forever!

A white bouquet tantrum fit…
Has anyone else noticed the white wedding bouquet madness with these celebrity weddings?!?
I call it madness because it is driving me nuts! WHY? Because I love to do colorful bouquets! But that’s just me!
Kate Middleton’s Royal Wedding Bouquet- WHITE!
Ivanka Trump’s bouquet- WHITE!
Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott bouquet- WHITE!
Kim Kardashion’s bouquet, guess what… it was white! Wait, can we really count this one? Wasn’t she only married for 72 hours… or wait, maybe it was 72 days. Is there a difference?
Really this list could go on for pages…
Of course the all-white bouquet is beautiful, sophisticated and timeless, but I am just not a fan of EVERYONE doing an all-white bouquet. I like to see some color!
The fact is that there really are no rules as to what color flowers you have to have, if you should have all white, or if you should mix up the color. I have seen it done every which way possible and the end result is always the same. It is always beautiful.
While I will continue to always have a comment about a celebrity and their surprisingly all white bouquet (NOT), I secretly love how beautiful their photos look, and yours will too!
